First off, I went to CultureCon this weekend and it was incredible! I met some of the most talented, interesting, ambitious creatives, entrepreneurs, and young professionals from all over the country. If you missed out this year, you played yourself. Digilogue Days: A 2-Day Music & Tech Conference - 10/12-13
Description: 2-Day Music & Tech Conference where Music Executives, Artists, Creatives, Students, and aspiring professionals gather to connect and learn more about the music industry.
Why I Recommend: They provide great career development opportunities (resume reviews, headshots, career fairs, mentorship opportunities and more). Unfortunately their in-person tix are sold out, however, they also have a virtual/stream attendance option.
The Power of Participation Art X Innovation Day Featuring Memphis Bleek - 10/12
Description: A four-day festival celebrating the intersection of art, technology, music, fashion, and social justice featuring a Digital Art Battle Hosted by Correy K with a performance by Memphis Bleek and music by DJ Enuff
Why I recommend: Great art work, great host, good networking opportunities, and a performance by a hip hop legend. What more can you ask for?

United Masters SelectCon 005 - Independence is Global - 10/14
Description: This conference includes panels, workshops, and performances with leading independent artists, innovators, and trailblazers from around the world. Speakers and performers include Steve Stoute, Davido, Tokischa, Earn Your Leisure, LVRN, Elliott Wilson, Ivy Rivera, and more.
Why I Recommend: The speaker and performer lineup is incredible especially for that low price of admission. It’s only $22 for a ticket! Stop playing and grab one.
Inconvenient Conversations Book Launch with Edwin Raymond - 10/14
Description: This is a book launch by Edwin Raymond, the highest-ranking whistleblower in NYPD history where he shares an insider look at the complexities of modern policing and the urgent need for reform. The event is hosted by Malik Yoba and features Miabelle, Shaun King, Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz, Tamika Mallory, Terrence Floyd, and Jumaane Williams.
Why I Recommend: The subject matter is important and the speaker lineup is solid. This is a great opportunity to learn and network.
Description: This is a national day party series for “men who rock beards and women who can’t get enough of them”. Women’s tickets are sold in advance to ensure the event is gender-balanced. Men are allowed into the event for free, beard or not.
Why I Recommend: Even though it’s technically a party, you can do some great networking here and will run into some well-connected, accomplished, and attractive people from many different professional backgrounds. Cuffing season is indeed upon us :-)
