We hope you are having a great start to the week! Our goal is to help you increase your net worth by building your network. In order to do that we’ll be providing an occasional quick networking tip as you plot out your week with our extensive networking event list below.
Networking Tip of the Week 🔑:
In order to build your network and social capital, it’s not just about who you know…and it’s not just about who knows you. It’s also about who knows that you know what you know.
What do I mean by that? I mean that you can have all the expertise, knowledge, and skill in the world, but it’s important to make sure your friends, coworkers, and others in your network are aware you have those skills and of the value you offer so they can refer clients to you or refer you for jobs or other opportunities.
You’d be surprised at how many of your friends have no idea where you work, what your actual job title is, or the fact that you recently won that award 🏆 or launched that business 🧑🏾💻.
One way to ensure that people in your network understand what you are good at is by sharing your knowledge and expertise regularly—on LinkedIn, Instagram, your personal website, and anywhere else that you can showcase it!
Don’t be shy about your greatness 📣 ! Let people know about the value you offer so they can speak your name in rooms when opportunities are presented.
